RESEARCH INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES

Lattice dynamics: Harmonic lattice dynamics in molecular crystals. Theory of anharmonic phonon decay processes, phonon lineshapes, photon-phonon anharmonic scattering. Quasi-Harmonic lattice dynamics. Properties of molecular crystals as a function of pressure and temperature. Semiconducting organic crystals. Calculation of electron-phonon coupling. Crystal structure prediction.

Classical Mechanics Molecular Dynamics (MD): Equilibrium and non-equilibrium molecular dynamics in molecular crystals, liquid and amorphous materials. Glass transition. Structural and dynamical properties of glasses.

Quantum Mechanics Molecular Dynamics (DFT-MD): Ab-initio and Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations for isolated molecules and condensed systems: structural, vibrational and electronic properties.

Molecular Spectroscopy: Theory of infrared and Raman spectroscopy of molecular crystals. Coherent non linear Raman and CARS resonance spectroscopy. Infrared, Raman and excimer flourescence spectroscopy in molecular crystals under pressure. Vibrational spectroscopy of anharmonic molecules.
